«Protected Areas of Baikal» exhibition
Lake Baikal is enormous. A tourist who has come to Baikal for a couple of weeks can see and understand only a small part of it. The exhibition in the visitor center should give the general information about the lake, acquaint the visitors with main local tourist sights and the Precious Necklace of Baikal itself, moreover it should teach the principles of ecological thinking. At the same time, tourists and guides can relax in the building while waiting for their groups. There are conference halls and a souvenir shop in the visitor center.
We developed the project from the draft: we created a building renovation plan, worked out the exhibition design, produced it, delivered it and installed it on site. In the main exposition, Baikal is shown as a whole balanced ecosystem, the versatility and diversity of which form a giant mosaic of closely related elements. The slogan of the exhibition is “The most!” – Baikal is really “the most” in everything: the biggest, the most guarded, the most beloved.
There is an interactive multimedia model of the lake in the center of the exhibition. Our visitors can “touch” Baikal, see its birth, “drain” and “fill the lake”, see the inhabitants of the Baikal shores, and even watch the birds nesting around without leaving the visitor center.
The opening, launch and the meeting of the guests
“Protected Areas of Baikal” is a large-scale project not only for us, but also for the system of Russian reserves as a whole. The opening was attended by the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Sergey Donskoy, later a meeting was held at the visitor center with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
